2018 Troutville Volunteer Fire Department Citizens Fire Academy
We would like to cordially invite you to the second class of the Troutville Volunteer Fire Department Citizens Fire Academy! The Citizens Fire Academy is a way we are giving our community members a chance to get an overview of what the Troutville Volunteer Fire Department does, as well as increase your knowledge of fire prevention, fire education, 911 education, and obtain life saving skills like CPR!
The academy class is limited to 12 students and spans over a fun-filled five weeks! Anyone interested must be a Botetourt County resident and over the age of 18. If you are ready to get an inside look at your local fire department apply by going to our Recruit Application!

- Station Tour and Apparatus Overview
- Emergency Communication Center Tour
- Ride Along Assignments
Session 2: Friday, November 9, 2018 – 6PM to 9PM
- Fire Ground Operations
- Fire Hoses
- Water Supply
- Vehicle Extrication
Session 3: Friday, November 16, 2018 – 6PM to 9PM
- Fire Prevention and Education
- Fire Extinguishers
Session 4: Friday, November 30, 2018 – 6PM to 9PM
- Basic First Aid
- CPR
Session 5: Friday, December 7, 2018 – 6PM to 8PM
- Graduation
