I feel more "whole" today, after my swinging "saloon door" was refurbished and reinstalled in its original location. This essential part of my first floor that shielded a servants' access corridor from view was removed many decades ago and tucked away out of sight in a remote corner of my attic, where it gathered dust and fell into further disrepair. Some of the fraternity boys remember it hanging, but inoperable, back in the 1970s, while others from the 1950s say even they had never seen it before. Regardless of when it was removed, generations of residents have passed through my halls and never witnessed this original masterpiece. Many thanks to Professor Kenneth Miller for his painstaking efforts to refurbish and reinstall it. If you attend our cocktail party next Friday, you can see it, too!
