Alabama Lineman Appreciation Day started out as a challenge for our linemen when a large tree fell and damaged switchgear at Troy University. They were able to perform some switching and restore power so they could make a luncheon and meeting held to honor them. Special guest Brandon Wylie from ECG joined us for lunch and talked with them as well.

Today was a great example of our linemen getting the job done safely and quickly.

Thanks to our linemen for all they do each and every day for the City of Troy and our citizens!

This morning we sent one of our crews over to assist Black Warrior EMC in west Alabama. They were hit hard with the storms that came through last night. We were thankful to have little to no damage here on our system, but glad we are able to go assist the folks that need help at this time. We are so proud of all of our linemen and the sacrifices they make each day for not only us here in Troy but everywhere there is a call for help.

We cannot let the day go by without taking a moment to honor and celebrate the hardworking heroes that light up our country—electrical lineworkers. April 18 is National Lineman Appreciation Day; a time to express our gratitude to the dedicated men and women that work hard every day to build, maintain and repair the poles and nine million miles of wire that power our nation.

Thank you guys for going out in harsh conditions at all times of the day to keep the power on in Troy! #thankalineman
