The Water Department will be repairing a leak in the roadway in the 300 block of W. Madison St. tomorrow morning, Wednesday August, 26th beginning at 7am. Work should be completed by 4pm the same day.

Traffic will be one lane and directed by flaggers between the intersection of W. Madison St. and S. Brundidge St. as well as W. Madison St. and S. Three Notch St. Hanchey St. will be closed at the intersection on both sides of W. Madison St. while the work is ongoing.

Please use extreme caution while in this area or avoid if at all possible. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

We will have the power on Indian Creek Trail turned off tomorrow morning between 8 AM - 9 AM to do maintenance to the lines in the area. Please use caution during this time.

OUTAGE ALERT

Power is off to our citizens along Elm Street, George Wallace, Hwy 29, and streets/areas connected to these main roads. We have a tree laying on the line we must clear before restoring power.

The leak has been repaired and water service is restored to the Prospect Ridge and Deer Stand Hill areas. There may be some air or discolored water in the lines, so please flush your faucet or sink for a few minutes if you have either of these issues. Water Service Update: Crews had to turn water service off for all of the Prospect Ridge subdivision. They are working diligently to repair the leak and restore service as soon as possible. Thank you again for your patience as our crews make this repair.

Water Service Outage: Our water crews will be making an emergency repair to the water main along Prospect Ridge Road this afternoon. They will have to turn the main off in this area to complete repairs. Areas affected include part of Prospect Ridge Rd past Shady Grove, Briar Hill Way, Whitetail Way, Longbeard, Olivia, Abby, Susie, and Kelsey Lane.
Water service may be off for a few hours, but our crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore water service after completing the repair. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Meet the crew 🚜
Today we are spotlighting our Right of Way Department, another crew that works hard to keep our city running smoothly!

This crew is responsible for maintaining waterline and sewer line rights of way throughout the city. These employees maintain lines that start at the streets and other lines that often go through woods and other difficult to access areas! They make sure our crews can easily travel along and inspect these rights of way in the event of an emergency or repairs!

We are proud of this department and the work they do for our community!

Beginning at 6 am on Tuesday, July 7th, the Water Dept. will close a section of Hanchey St. from W. Madison St. to Bell St. for utility work. Crews should be completed by 4 pm on Tuesday, July 7th. Weather dependent. No through traffic will be allowed.
