John served the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office with distinction, dedication and was deeply respected as a leader, mentor, and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Karen, his family, friends, and the entire law enforcement community during this difficult time. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

Fire Chief Ken Hays hangs the Troy Volunteer Fire Department sign, putting the finishing touch on he new building that now houses the department equipment. Constructed entirely of cement block with a concrete floor, the 34-by-40-foot structure has two stalls to accommodate the new truck received by the Fire Department, shown here, and the old truck, a 1942 Seagraves it replaces, which will be retained for auxiliary or emergency use. The fire truck committee planned the building , which has been painted white with doors and sign lettering of fire engine red. A lot of volunteer labor from the firemen went into constructing and painting the building, which replaces the one attached to the City Hall about 30 years ago. The firemen painted the doors, hung the sign, installed a propane heater, refrigerator and moved the new fire indicator panel in preparation for the arrival of their new truck.
