🇷🇴🇺🇸 Michigan Consular Corps Reception – Lansing

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, I had the honor of participating in the Michigan Consular Corps Reception at the Governor’s Residence in Lansing.

I am deeply grateful to God for the opportunity to represent Romania and to stand alongside fellow members of the consular community, state leaders, and diplomatic representatives. Moments like these remind us that cooperation, mutual respect, and unity among nations are blessings that must be nurtured with humility and responsibility.

🇷🇴🇺🇸 Global Ties Detroit Annual Dinner – Detroit

On Thursday, October 23rd, I had the honor of participating in the Global Ties Detroit Annual Dinner, held at the historic Guardian Building in Detroit, celebrating diplomacy and international engagement in our great city.

I am thankful to God for the opportunity to be part of an evening that brought together diplomats, community leaders, and partners dedicated to building bridges between nations. Events like this remind us that diplomacy is not only about dialogue, but also about trust, respect, and service to one another.

The Honorary Consulate of Romania to Michigan remains committed to strengthening international relationships and supporting cultural, economic, and people-to-people connections between Romania, Detroit, and the State of Michigan.

📣 A Historic Day for Lansing, Michigan and Suceava, Romania! 🇺🇸🤝🇷🇴

After more than two years of dedicated work, we are proud to announce that on Monday, December 08, 2025, the Sister City Agreement between Lansing, Michigan and Suceava, Romania was officially signed in Lansing!

This unforgettable ceremony brought together over 100 guests, including:
✨ Mayor Andy Schor
✨ Members of the Lansing Sister Cities Commission
✨ A 20-member official delegation from Suceava, led by Deputy Mayor Daniel Ungurian
✨ Mr. Lucian Ilie Stănică, Consul General of Romania in Chicago
✨ A large community of Romanians living in Michigan

We were honored with two extraordinary musical moments:
🎤 Laura Bretan, who offered a moving performance of the Romanian National Anthem
🎤 Dr. Rachael Gates, who beautifully performed the U.S. National Anthem

This ceremony marks not just the signing of an agreement, but the beginning of a long-lasting partnership, friendship, and cultural bridge between our communities.

As the Honorary Consul of Romania to Michigan, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who worked, supported, and attended this historic event. Thank you for standing with us and witnessing this important step for both cities and for our Romanian-American community.
