Miami County Treasurer Issues Tax Bill Payment (2nd Half) Due Date Extension

Troy, Ohio — Monday, June 15, 2026 — Miami County Treasurer has issued a tax bill extension due to the implementation of Ohio’s new Inflation Cap Credit under House Bill 186, whereas the issuance of the 2nd half 2026 (Tax Year 2025) property tax bills will be delayed.

The Ohio Tax Commissioner has approved an extension of the due date to August 20, 2026.

Do not submit payment until you receive your tax bill or can verify the exact amount due through the Treasurer’s Office. Paying an estimated amount could result in an overpayment.

While we are disappointed in last tonight’s outcome, we respect the voice of the voters and remain committed to serving Miami County with transparency and integrity.

Over the past months, the Board of Commissioners, along with the Sheriff and his team, worked hard to provide clear, honest information about the need for a new County Jail. We hosted more than one hundred tours and presentations because we believed the public deserved to see the conditions firsthand and make an informed decision.

We are grateful to everyone who took the time to engage, ask questions, and be part of the process.

This result does not change the reality of the challenges we face. It does mean this Board now has some very tough decisions ahead in the coming months. We will continue to approach those decisions with the same commitment to openness, responsibility, and respect for the people we serve.

Our focus remains the same—doing what’s right for the safety and future of this community.
