Good Afternoon residents of Troy! As many of you may have seen, the yard down at the highway barn has been cleaned up and somewhat organized. Over the last couple of months, we have had a great influx of contractors bringing in brush, knot w**d, yard waste. The yard is for residents only, not residents doing commercial jobs. There are cameras around the property and we have been keeping track on the influx. For residents, brush is fine as long as it is under 5 inches in diameter per state law. Also wood cannot be painted, stained, or pressure treated. That needs to go to the transfer station (paid for) and put into the C&D dumpster. We are no longer taking stumps or logs at the barn. We have Hit our limit on how far far we can go.
There are piles around the yard where certain materials go. Yard waste ( leaves, pine needles, grass clippings, hay/straw) goes in the pile to the left of the burn pile. Concrete and pavement go to the right of the yard waste. wood chips ( free to take) goes directly behind burn pile. Everything to the right of the chip pile is slowly going to be cleaned up and leveled off with a back stop to prevent more material from going over the banking. If you have dirt that you need to get rid of, there is a ramp to the left of the compost pile please dump the dirt at the top of the ramp. If we continue to get commercial yard waste and brush we will be forced to put a gate across the entrance and lock it at night and on weekends.
