Death Investigation – Officer-Involved Shooting
The Lincoln County Coroner's Office is conducting an independent statutory death investigation following an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Pinewood Drive in Lincoln County during the afternoon hours of Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
The Coroner's Office is conducting its investigation in coordination with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC), which is leading the officer-involved shooting investigation.
The deceased, a 69-year-old Lincoln County resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene after sustaining fatal injuries.
The Coroner's Office investigation includes a comprehensive examination of the circumstances surrounding the death, scene documentation, postmortem examination, and review of all available investigative findings. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Lincoln County Coroner's Office upon completion of the investigation.
The next of kin has been notified.
Upon completion of the Coroner's Office investigation, all reports, findings, and supporting documentation will be forwarded to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
The Lincoln County Coroner's Office extends its thoughts to all those affected by this tragic incident, including the families involved and the first responders who responded to the scene.
Due to the active and ongoing nature of this investigation, no further information will be released by the Lincoln County Coroner's Office at this time. Additional information will be released if and when it is appropriate to do so without compromising the integrity of the investigation.
