Friends of Mt. Pisgah State Park To donate to the Friends Group & support programs: http://bit.ly/donatetomountpisgahfriends The 1,302-acre state park is along Mill Creek, at the base of Mt.

Pisgah, elevation 2,260 feet. The park is only two miles north of US 6, the major route through the northern tier. Secondary roads passing through the villages of East Troy and West Burlington travel over rolling farmland to the park. A dam on Mill Creek forms Stephen Foster Lake, named after the famous composer and onetime local resident. The 75-acre lake provides fishing, boating and skating. Adjacent to the park are Mt. Pisgah County Park and State Game Land 289.

Town Mouse, Country Mouse is on the StoryWalk® until late next week. We will feature The Belonging Tree for autumn.

StoryWalk® is a fun, educational activity that places a children's book along a walking route. It was created as an innovative and delightful way for people of all ages to combine physical activity with books and to help build children's interest in reading while encouraging healthy activity for all! The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.

You'll find the story at the rear pool parking lot beginning at the bridge. It follows the Oh! Susanna Trail by Stephen Foster Lake between the pool and boat launch road. It is about a half mile out and back along a flat section of the trail.

Thank you, Bradford County Historical Society for bringing it to us. Very interesting to hear the historical accounts of their trek through our area.
