Our Ladies Firearm Class for Summer 2026 was a great success, thanks to our dedicated instructors and the amazing group of ladies who participated!

This training provided participants with the opportunity to learn about firearm safety, fundamentals of marksmanship, responsible handling and safe storage practices. Through hands-on instruction and expert guidance, each participant gained valuable skills and confidence in safely carrying a firearm.

We appreciate everyone who attended and made this class such a positive experience.

Thank you to the Salvation Army “Donut Lassies” for bringing donuts by in celebration of National Donut Day and for showing appreciation to the Sheriff’s Office for our assistance with unloading donation trucks. Members of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team recently traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to compete in the SWAT Team Tactical Challenge.

The competition featured four demanding team events, including a woodland run through mountainous terrain, an active shooter scenario, a live-fire shoot house exercise, and a dynamic obstacle course. There were also four individual competitions testing tactical skills and marksmanship.

After a hard-fought competition, the team earned an impressive 4th Place Overall finish.

We would like to congratulate Lieutenant Russ Thomas for his outstanding individual performance, taking 1st Place in the individual Rifle Competition and 2nd Place in the individual Pistol Competition.

We are proud of the dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence demonstrated by every member of our Special Response Team.

Our Special Response Team spent the day conducting an intense training session as they prepare to head to Tuscaloosa this weekend for the upcoming SWAT competition. The day focused on teamwork, tactical readiness, and sharpening the skills needed for competition.

We’re proud of the dedication, discipline, and hard work these guys continue to show while representing our agency. Best of luck to the team this week!

🚨 Scam Alert 🚨

We have received several reports of scam calls from individuals impersonating Lt. David Thomas and possibly other employees from our office. The callers are demanding a $500 payment over the phone to “take care of” a warrant.

Please remember: The Pike County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER ask for money over the phone or call demanding payment for a warrant.

Do not give out personal information or send money to these scammers. If you receive one of these calls, hang up immediately and report it to our office.
