TroyCAN - Career Assistance Network Career Assistance Network Troy CAN’s methods primarily involve resource and referral strategies.

Troy CAN is a community group including the City of Troy, Troy Chamber of Commerce, Troy School District and over 40 representatives from business, education, government, non-profits, and other organizations working together to facilitate the education and /or employment success of the adult learner in Troy. The purpose of Troy CAN is to help adults answer the critical questions of where do I go f

or help to find a job, improve my education, or access support services. In addition, to the focus on residents and employees of Troy the group aims to help employers identify community resources to assist them in developing their organizations and/or addressing employee human resource needs. Where appropriate they hope to support and expand existing resource providers such as adult education, Michigan Works-Troy, Troy Chamber of Commerce, post secondary institutions, and community support service providers.

TroyCAN & Oakland Literacy Council need volunteer tutors. A volunteer tutor training session is scheduled to May 14th, 2011; 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and 16th and 18th, 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Tutoring preparation by experienced trainers You don’t need to be a teacher to participate, schedules for tutoring are flexible, and you only meet 1.5-2 hours per week.
