Tonight is FEAST! Our annual banquet. We hope to see you there. This is just a gentle reminder for you to bring your checkbook or some cash to spend at what promises to be a really fun silent auction. We'll also be running a friendly competition between our Furniture Program Bedframe Fund and our Garden Expansion Fund. Will you be on Team Furniture or Team Garden? And don't forget the raffle to win a week at a really wonderful Adirondack cabin on Schroon Lake!

TAUM is a small non-profit that does a lot of good to help our neighbors in Troy and Rensselaer county. Your dollars are well spent on us! Thank you so much for all your support.

FEAST!, our annual banquet, is on Thursday, 5 PM at the Franklin Terrace, and we are excited! We did receive word that the City of Troy will be doing some major work on a sewer line on Campbell Ave starting tomorrow, so plan a bit of extra travel time. We hear the detour will be well-marked and will end right at the entrance to the Franklin Terrace, so it shouldn't prevent any of you from attending.

ps. We're running a raffle for a week at a wonderful vacation cottage on Schroon Lake. Even if you're not attending FEAST! you can still purchase raffle tickets on our website. See the flier for more info. Thank you for all your support!

Hi friends of TAUM's Furniture Program! We need your help. We have 20 extra-long twin mattresses we want to give to kids who need them, but we need bedframes! You're invited to make a $75 donation to buy a bedframe so we can put these mattresses to good use. Link to donate in the comments.

What is a Free Food Fridge? It is a designated spot where neighbors can share food with neighbors any time of day or night, a mechanism for mutual aid. TAUM's fridge will be installed by Free Food Fridge Albany, our collaborative partner that already has over 10 fridges installed throughout the Capital Region (go look at their website! Their mission is inspiring!)

This fridge will be the first one in South Troy, a neighborhood where groceries can be hard to come by--especially for those who are low-income or lack transportation--and food insecurity is on the rise. We at TAUM and FFFA will monitor and fill the fridge with healthy, fresh foods and ready-to-eat meals, but we can't do this without the aid of many neighbors and friends who are also committing to this work.

You too are invited to fill the fridge! Join us Sunday May 3 for a ceremonial fridge filling and blessing following the CROP Walk (3 PM).

We had an awesome weekend at TAUM!! Friday morning we had our first annual Volunteer Breakfast, and then in the evening we had a Healing Day with a crew of practitioners from the People's Health Sanctuary offering a variety of healing modalities (acupuncture, massage, reiki, among others) and tasty nourishing food for our neighbors, gratis. Both events were well attended and enjoyed! Then on Saturday morning we had a truckful of food (enough for a hundred families!) delivered by the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Our awesome crew of volunteers unloaded it, sorted it and packed it into bags for our neighbors to take. We were delighted to have a group of reps from the Alpha Chi Rho - Delta Phi Chapter Fraternity from RPI join us! All this life, community, connection and care happen because volunteers show up and share their compassion, strength, passion and vision with one another and the community. We are so grateful for our amazing volunteers.

Next weekend: we're CROP-walkin' and blessing our new incoming FREE FOOD FRIDGE!!!

We're so excited about our garden! Last Saturday a whole crew of volunteers showed up to cart and shovel topsoil into our raised bed. Next up: planting! All veggies grown in our garden go directly to neighbors dealing with food insecurity. Fresh local produce is a precious commodity: we're so grateful for our volunteers willing to literally get down in the dirt and weeds with us to grow it for those who need it most. Let us know if you'd like to help! Many hands make light work and we could put your hands to work, too.

We're having a clean-up day at our facility at 392 Second St.! Come help us get things in order.

Volunteers made beautiful handmade valentines for all the families who received groceries from TAUM this week! Did you know that every Thursday, we distribute 35-40 bags of groceries and 80+ meals to neighbors dealing with food insecurity? The work of collecting and packing and cooking all this food is done by our committed volunteers, a few of whom are pictured here ❤️❤️❤️

Join our team of supporters and donate! We depend upon donations of good quality used furniture for our Furniture Program. Program director Tyara Burnett talks about the kind of furniture we need the most. Keep in mind our clients are usually coming out of a homelessness or domestic violence situation and into a smaller apartment, and they're most in need of the basics to make a house a home: beds, dressers and tables that have a smaller footprint, and smaller, lightweight living room furniture (loveseats and recliners) are ideal.
