Hope For Haiti OUR MISSION: To be an instrument of CHRIST by giving the Haitian people HOPE! Our Founder's Story

Our story begins in 1999 when Kim Waller, a Youth Director from Warren, MI., thought it might be an exciting adventure to join forces with 2 other churches and take 22 high school youth (including her 19 year old daughter and 15 year old son) and 8 adults to Port Au Prince, Haiti on a mission trip.

Little did she know how much this trip would change her life, her friends, her family and the way she viewed everything around her. This story continues with Keith, Kim's husband, who wasn't too keen on the idea of 3/5's of his family going to a country he only knew of as dangerous. Being the police officer he is, he decided to go on the trip with the sole purpose of protecting them. He would neve

Just an update on our progress in Haiti. We were able to get two trips in this year. January and April. Our teams purchased more than $21,000 in food (approximately 23 tons). We distributed more than 600 pairs of eye glasses to all ages, young and old. We supported more than 100 children, brought over 2000 lbs of donations (shoes, clothing, medicine, toothpaste, toothbrush’s, water filters, soccer balls, jump ropes, flip flops, pencils, paper, buckets and the list goes on)
Hope for Haiti can not say THANK YOU enough for your love and support for these mission trips. COVID and travel restrictions have made things very difficult for so many Haitians. We are planning a trip for January 2022, and ask for your prayers that this trip takes place. If you can continue to support this work with a donation, we have VENMO, and PayPal available for you. Thanks for taking the time to read our progress.

Our team of 5 just returned from a week in Haiti. Our main mission was to work with children, do eyeglasses for reading and distance, and do food distribution. It was a very successful trip and all goals were accomplished. We purchased $11,000 worth of food, had over 450 people come through our eyeglass clinics (3), and worked with over 100 kids ranging from 3-17!! We could not accomplish this kind of work without your help. Thanks so much for all that you do. Thanks for all the prayers, keeping our team safe. At no time were we ever at risk and I attribute that to our wonderful Haitian team.

Please,Please, Please, consider a donation to Hope For Haiti ($20 buys a 55lb bag of rice) The mother of a friend of ours just died of starvation and she weighed 45-50 lbs. thanks for taking the time to read Pastors letter. He usually doesn’t ask unless it’s very important. Thanks for your support!!

Pics from our Jan/Feb trip. Our team of 9 did an amazing job. We purchased food, over 9 tons! We brought water filters and buckets for clean drinking water, supplies for families, helped with construction on two homes, provided funds for a well, helped a family start a business, GOOD STUFF! All because of you!!!! You deserve to smile for your blessings that you provided to so many children and families.

Our Hope for Haiti team hopes all our peeps hand a wonderful Christmas, celebrating the birth of our Savior and getting to share time with family and friends. We can’t THANK you enough for your support this year and how generous soooo many of you have been.
Things have been pretty calm for the past 3 weeks in Haiti and we ask for continued prayers that it remains peaceful. We are scheduled to go at the end of January and pray we can get much needed funds in to help so many.
We wish all of you a happy and prosperous New Year!! Can’t believe it’s 2020!! Be safe and careful if you are out and about on NYE!!

I have struggled with wanting to post, but the situation in Haiti for so many has become very, very difficult. I have been involved in fund raising events for many, many years and it is always difficult to constantly ask for help/money. So MANY of you have supported our organization for food drives, water filters, schooling for the kids, construction projects etc. and still send checks to keep us going, YOU ARE A BLESSING, thank you. Right now I ask that you take a deep breath, look around you and see how blessed you are, that you are not locked into your homes, smelling burning tires, hearing gunfire CONSTANTLY around you, if you have a motorcycle or car you have to pay $24 a gallon!!!! Food is scarce due to road blocks so the little food you can get is 4X the amount. We are hoping to send a Team to Haiti on Jan 29th, 2020. (Hoping the demonstrations stop)We support over 100 children, and many , many families. THEY NEED US, we are their HOPE. Our friends are begging us for food and water. They say that they have never seen demonstrations go on for 6 weeks with no end in sight. PLEASE prayerfully consider a donation to our organization so we can get some money wired down to the Pastor and he can get some food distributed to so many families that are hurting. Feel free to send the check directly to me (Hope for Haiti) or to the Troy, MI box office so we get 100% of your donations!!! Thanks for taking the time to read this long request. It is scary there, schools have been closed, people cannot work to get money to get to the stores when they open to get their food. I will try and post some news stories that are coming out of Haiti, it is a terrible situation to be in.

A very successful trip with our team from Solitude Baptist Church, Alabama. Helped build two homes, purchased 7 tons of food, helped 3 orphanages, played games and crafts with almost 200 children. It was our 3rd trip of 2019 and we purchased over $25,000 worth of food, took down 4,400 lbs of donations and supported many families with needed funds. We now begin to plan for 2020 and pray fully ask you consider donating to Hope for Haiti to allow us to continue to assist those in need. ANY amount is appreciated. Thanks so much for all the support many of you provided this year. It was our most successful year EVER!!

Hope For Haiti

Hello Dear Friends,
I know it has been a while since my last post so wanted to update you on what has been going on.
Our February trip was GREAT! There was 19 of us and we accomplished sooooooo much while there. The best thing about the trip was how God blessed us through your donations to purchase over 11 tons, yes, 11 TONS of food. This became so important because Haiti went through some difficult times with violent demonstrations and so many were able to stay home with out going into the violence to get food.
We are returning with another team on June 19th and I have found that so many people are and have been with out power. I have been shown a solar system that provides energy for a home(lights to see, power to pump water to the roof, power to charge a phone or use a computer). The system comes with 4: 25 watt panels, inverter, lights and a battery. The system costs $500 and they will have a source of energy for approximately 20 yrs!!! Would you please consider donating to help me purchase 4 systems for this trip. You can visit our website or IM me and that way, 100% of your donations will go to purchase these systems. THANKS SO MUCH for taking the time to read my update.

Amazon Sign In

FB friends, a couple of ways to help support the people in Haiti at no out of pocket funds is #1, if you shop Amazon, go to smile.amazon.com and register for hope for Haiti, INC (location is Troy, MI)and Amazon gives a small percentage of your purchases to us every quarter. #2, If you shop at Kroger, you can go online to Kroger.com and register through their website for their community rewards program, same hope for Haiti in Troy, MI. These two programs can help generate hundreds of dollars for our mission teams to purchase food and supplies on our trips. PLEASE keep Haiti in your prayers as they struggle to find answers to the many struggles they face.

Many of you may have not seen what is happening in Haiti, the media here in the U.S. has neglected the violence that has been raging in this country since February 7th. First of all I ask for your prayers that this government makes the right decisions to get this rioting to stop. Many of our friends have been confined to their homes and some have no water. We were blessed by your donations to be able to supply many people with enough food to stay safe from having to try and go out amongst the violence to get food. This was the largest supply of food I was able to buy, amazing how the Lord knew so many needed this food and what a blessing your $10 & $20 donations did in providing at a time like this.

Just a portion of donated items we are packing for our upcoming trip in 11 days!! Thanks so much for the support that many of you have provided. We will be taking 26 bags at 50lbs each with us to support the people of Haiti. I still could use some old cell phones in good condition to take with me. Along with the donations I am going to purchase food to distribute, if you still wish to send a donation please visit the website or mail it to me in care of Hope for Haiti!!

All of us from the Hope for Haiti board want to wish ALL of our FB peeps a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!! We are all great full for all of you. So many of you blessed us with donations to help feed so many children and families for our upcoming mission trips in 2019. Keep Haiti and other nations that struggle in your prayers at the dinner table this week and always for we have been blessed and there is no greater love than to share those blessings with others. Merry Christmas, God’s blessings to all of you as we celebrate the birth of our Savior. ❤️

As you prepare your hearts and minds for Thanksgiving tomorrow, sharing and being with your families and loved ones, please consider a gift of thanks to Hope for Haiti for giving Tuesday. Kim and I are leading mission trips to Haiti 4 times in 2019. We could use financial help to purchase food and supplies for the children in 3 orphanages. For many, we are there only HOPE for their next meal. Thank you for considering a donation, no matter the size. Twenty dollars buys a 55lb bag of rice. Safe travels over the next few days.

This morning I am in awe and overwhelmed. This past Wednesday I gave a presentation to the Lions Club of Warren MI. on how we used their $1200 donation last year to purchase food during our mission trip, and how many lives they touched. I was not there to ask for more, just to say THANK YOU for their love and compassion. This morning I was presented 2 checks totaling $2,500 ($2000 from Lions Club, $500 from Michigan Business Consultants)for the purchase of more food for our February trip!! Totally shocked and overwhelmed on how the Lord works to bless his people. To be honest, I was a little nervous about how much money I was going to have for food. Donations have been way down, I know that there are many needs for many people. Trusting in the Lord that HE will provide. Just know that our organization will continue to lead mission trips to Haiti helping those in need. If you ever feel moved to make a donation to continue to support our teams, visit our website or message me, thanks and God’s blessings.
