The storm that came through blew a limb onto our lines and also broke an insulator.
We hope to have power restored to part of the affected area as soon as the limb is removed. Then we will restore power to the rest of the affected area as soon as repairs can be made.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as our linemen work to safely get the problems resolved snd power restored.

BREAKING: WE NOW HAVE ELSA --

Tropical Storm #Elsa has formed this morning and is heading west-northwestward toward the Caribbean. It's the earliest in hurricane season we've EVER had our fifth named storm. Elsa is forecast to reach strong tropical storm status and curve to the north at some point near Florida/the eastern Gulf of Mexico. This one bears watching as exact details will be ironed out. 🌀

NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE:

The City of Troy would like to inform the public that Industrial Blvd. at the intersection of Industrial Blvd. and US Hwy 231 S will be closed to traffic starting Monday, April 12, 2021 for construction of a concrete median. No traffic will be permitted on this section of Industrial Blvd. for at least two weeks.

Industrial Park South businesses and industries will continue to have access by Kimber Way, which connects to Limestone Springs Road, Trojan Parkway, and Mockingbird Lane (shown in Exhibit A attached). Upon completion of the construction project of the median, the intersection of Industrial Blvd. and US Hwy 231 S will be a restricted intersection with full entrance access but the exit will be restricted to right-out traffic only.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes to avoid this area for the duration of this closure. No traffic will be permitted on this section of Industrial Blvd. during this closure. Are you responding to a rising number of mental health and substance abuse-related dispatches? What can YOU do? Become certified in Mental Health First Aid for Fire/EMS (Gulf Shores, AL July 23 or 24th). Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as physical first aid is administered to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, it is given until appropriate treatment is found or the crisis is resolved. The training provides Firefighters and EMS personnel with the skills they need to support themselves, the people they serve and their colleagues through a mental health or addiction crisis. The more properly trained individuals there are within a department, the greater the likelihood that needed care will be delivered and tragedy averted.
Want to learn additional tools to help respond to individuals Mental Health/Illness & Substance Abuse? Obtain a 3-year certification to increase awareness on how to identify, respond, and refer to distress or crisis.
