1- We are sorrowful today over the death of Dolly. She was a uniquely talented and generous person.

We talked recently about how important rich people are to our culture in funding things that can’t be covered.

Dolly could have been a billionaire several times over but she put her money to work by giving it to people in need of a little help.

Here are just a few of many ways Dolly took care of other Americans. We particularly loved her Imagination Library. When you register your new baby, Dolly will send a book every month, free, until five years old. At the moment 332,411,218 books have been sent to children in the USA and four other countries. This has been going on for 31 years.
Defending the Republic

In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.
She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.
The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.
She handed out the checks herself.

In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.

When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.
You've probably heard that part.
Here's the part you haven't:
The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.
Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.

She built her county an entire hospital.

She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.

In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.
Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.

In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.

And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.
She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.

She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.

Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸

North Carolina Voter Project (NCVP) claims they are nonpartisan. However, members on the board with exception of a Raleigh area accountant are registered Democrats. The accountant (unaffiliated) voted a democratic ballot in the 2020 primary. Members have been Democrat Convention Delegates and have ties to Former Gov. Roy Cooper and current Gov. Josh Stein.

RALEIGH — Earlier this month, some North Carolina residents across the state received voter registration mailings from a group called Ready to Register that included outdated forms, with many delivered to deceased individuals. The North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBE) issued a statement ...

“ Democrats took control of the U.S. House of Representatives, winning 42 seats in the 2018 midterm election. House Democrats spent the next two years delivering nothing significant, but investigating and impeaching President Trump.
This same type of terrifying scenario could occur in the upcoming midterm election. On average, the President’s political party loses 28 House seats and six Senate seats in the midterm election of his second term.
If the Democrats can attain the historic average gain in the 2026 midterm election, their party will control both houses of Congress. This will mean a non-stop array of hearings, investigations, and impeachments for Trump and his administration.
No major bills will be passed to help Americans, but Democrats do not care about their constituents. Their party is fully infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome, or TDS, and is only interested in opposing the President on everything.
To prevent this catastrophe, congressional Republicans should be working non-stop to deliver major accomplishments so that their base is motivated to vote in the midterm election. Instead, Congress is doing nothing and spending most of its time on recess.”
“The liberal Senate Parliamentarian, appointed by the late Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), has ruled that 60 votes are needed to pass the SAVE America Act in the Senate. This has effectively prevented the bill from passing, since there are only 53 Senate Republicans.
Despite the President’s urging, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has steadfastly refused to fire the Parliamentarian or eliminate the filibuster, which would allow the bill to pass with a simple majority.
While not passing the SAVE America Act, Congress has authorized an outrageous amount of federal spending. The U.S. Constitution authorizes Congress to control all federal spending, giving it the “power of the purse.”
Congress has misused this immense power to authorize $7 trillion annually in the federal budget. Consequently, the U.S. national debt has skyrocketed to $39.4 trillion, an increase of $3.2 trillion since the beginning of Trump’s second term.
At the beginning of President Trump’s first term, the national debt was $19.95 trillion. Thus, it has effectively doubled in less than ten years.”
