Yesterday, we said goodbye to a familiar voice in the communications center.
After 30 years of dedicated service, Andrew Zakrzewski is officially retired. His dispatcher number, #23, has also been officially retired, marking the end of an era in our center.
Throughout his career, Andy was known for being a calm and steady voice through any emergency, helping callers through difficult moments while supporting the first responders responding to their calls for help. His professionalism, experience, and reassuring presence made a lasting impact on both the community and the many dispatchers and responders he worked alongside.
Andy was also a man of strong faith, something that guided him throughout his life and career.
To recognize his three decades of service, Andy was presented with a commemorative flag during his final shift.
Thank you for 30 years of service, Andy. We wish you all the best in retirement!
