🌲 New to Land Ownership? Start Smart! 🌲

Join us for the Smart Start: Beginner Landowner Workshop on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Enterprise Civic Center in Enterprise, Alabama. This one-day workshop is designed for new and aspiring landowners who want to learn the fundamentals of managing and maximizing their property.

Participants will hear from forestry and natural resource professionals on topics including timber management, wildlife habitat improvement, non-timber forest products, estate planning, property law, and more. You'll also have the opportunity to connect with local experts, consultants, and fellow landowners.

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is offering FREE Venomous Snake Training this June! 🐍

This hands-on training is designed specifically for first responders and will cover:
✅ Venomous snake identification
✅ Non-native venomous snakes
✅ Snakebite response
✅ Handling & securing snakes
✅ Hospital expectations for snakebite care

📍 Training Dates:
• June 10 – Enterprise
• June 11 – Troy
• June 12 – Luverne

🕘 Sessions run from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

While some may think this has cattle famers watching the money pour in, grocery store price tags do not tell the full story. There are a lot of risks and costs that come with being a cattle farmer, and the profits they make may surprise some consumers.

Get Involved Pike County is currently seeking vendors and community partners for our upcoming Community Resource Fair & School Supply Giveaway on August 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Troy Recreation, located at 601 Enzor Road in Troy.
This event is designed to connect families with valuable community resources while helping students prepare for the upcoming school year. We would love for your organization to participate and share information about your services and programs with the community.
Vendor setup will begin at 2:00 p.m., and all vendors must be fully set up by 3:30 p.m. Each vendor will be provided with one 8-foot table and two chairs.

We ask all vendors to bring:
• A tablecloth
• Marketing or informational materials
• A school supply item to distribute to approximately 400 students (markers, crayons, pencils, notebooks, etc.)

Vendor spots are limited, so we encourage you to RSVP as soon as possible by submitting the attached vendor form and your school supply item by July 3, 2026.
