Spotted what we think was a juvenile male blue grosbeak and 2 females hanging around along the lane near our entrance! Hope they stay to breed - would be a first for us! These are more southern species, creeping up into our area - cool but a bit worrisome?

The Big Sit was a big success! Thanks to the help of 6 amazing birders and the support of pledges from 31 generous donors, we recorded 60 species from our 17' circle over our 12-hour fundraiser and raised almost $2500 for wildlife conservation! Thanks all!

Staff fielded 6 calls today about wildlife attacked by cats. Please consider keeping your cats indoors - it's safer for them and our wild friends! We have fun cat toys in the BNC Nature Shop to keep them active and engaged! You can do it!
