THPA board members and volunteers invested about 30 to 40 hours worth of elbow grease today in our city’s older housing stock in the neighborhood west of North Elm Street. What a great catalyst for reinvestment by Habitat for Humanity of Miami & Shelby Counties, OH. Here we are with some fellow volunteers from Troy Community Works!

You’ll visit buildings slated for renovation, currently under development, and recently completed projects, each revealing the potential and beauty of Troy’s historic architecture. Return guests especially love seeing how these spaces evolve from tour to tour!

Our tour begins in a place that has stood through both tragedy and triumph. This grand home once faced devastation, but rose from the ashes to be beautifully restored. Today, it continues to serve the Troy community with a new purpose.

On November 1st, it will welcome you with hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, and a first glimpse into the secrets of downtown Troy.

Second Story Secrets returns on Saturday, November 1st from 1–5 PM. This unique event helps support Troy Community Works! and our mission to revitalize and preserve Troy’s historic character.

Did you guess it? Yesterday’s 1966 cornerstone belongs to what was once one of Troy’s fire department stations—today it’s home to Old Scratch Pizza! 🚒➡️🍕

While we won’t be heading upstairs out of respect for the residents, this stop will feature a special display and speaker sharing the history of the building and its transformation from a firehouse into one of Troy’s favorite spots.

Join us on Saturday, November 1st from 1–5 PM for Second Story Secrets and uncover the stories behind Troy’s hidden gems. 🗝️
