This week, the socialist 7 of the City Council, along with the City Auditor (who is politically appointed by and works for the council) reached an all time low and attempted to withhold employee paychecks for purely political reasons.

Regardless of where you stand politically, using the paychecks of hardworking city employees as leverage is unacceptable and disgusting. Employees should never become pawns in political battles and be held hostage.

Fortunately, the Mayor and Corporation Counsel intervened and called a meeting with the Council President. After reviewing the situation, they made clear that withholding employee pay was not a lawful option (law cited in the comments). The paychecks were ultimately released.

The Mayor could have turned this into a political spectacle, but instead remained focused on delivering city services and addressing issues that matter to residents, including cleaner and safer streets.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time the Council has attempted to expand its authority beyond its legislative role. In just 6 months, we have seen efforts to block executive actions, delay mayoral appointments, withhold approvals, and pursue charter changes that would significantly reduce the powers of the Mayor’s office. The want COMPLETE control and will not stop until they get what they want.

Residents and city employees deserve to know what is happening at City Hall and how these actions affect the operation of their government.

We thought tougher laws were going to stop criminals from getting their hands on (illegal) guns 🤦‍♀️. Silly us. You mean the criminals aren’t following the tough laws? You see, Patrick’s mother, Noreen Mckee is not only a council member in Troy, she HEADS the public safety committee, is very outspoken about stronger gun laws, defunding the police, etc! You couldn’t hand pick a more ANTI public safety person for a committee. On top of all that, Noreen likes to spend her free time (she seems to have a lot) taunting her innocent political adversaries at their respective trials! I sure hope she was in court to support her son the way she was everyday taunting the republicans.

Tell us, how safe do you feel with HER as the public safety committee chair?! How fit do you think she is to serve? Why hasn’t Noreen spoken to her son about the fact that there is a process you must go through to legally own a gun 🤦‍♀️It’s ok, Noreen.. we’re sure you tried your best. Why isn’t the media covering this story?! 🦗🦗

We say it all the time… the party of hypocrisy. This is not the only trial of (NOT GUILTY)political adversaries she sat through. Let’s not forget she is also the biggest advocate to defund and disarm the police of essential tools. What an embarrassment to our city.

Meet "Superhuman" Silverman!

Superhuman Ian Silverman will soon hold FOUR, that’s right FOUR jobs at the same time during the same working hours. He works full-time for New York State, full-time for the City of Rensselaer, and has now been gifted a no show, do nothing position by the City Council of Troy. This latest role is a part-time position with a salary of $50,000 per year. A full time salary for many municipal employees.

We are also told that he maintains a private practice. If that's the case, many taxpayers may wonder how one person can effectively balance so many professional responsibilities at once. Is he truly Superhuman Silverman or perhaps, is shirker a more fitting term for this? Perhaps theft of services? We can think of many things. Maybe it’s time we start to FOIL some of these time cards. We need to see this amazing superhuman power for our own eyes.

For context, full time at NYS is 70 hrs a week. Full time for City of Rensselaer is also 70. His hours with Troy, of course have not been defined and the private practice will vary. Do the math! That’s well over 140 hrs a week. Amazing!

For those who may have forgotten who this man is, we've attached a clip from one of his more forgettable moments on Facebook where he mocked the appearance of a man who asked a simple question. Body shaming him.

Silverman has also run unsuccessfully for political office multiple times and is the husband of a potential (if her party allows it) 2027 candidate. Also a two time unsuccessful candidate. Is this a favor for all their failed efforts?

The taxpayers should be asking tougher questions about how this position was filled and why the need for it. Are your tax dollars truly being spent appropriately?

Either way, taxpayers deserve transparency and answers.

We actually have two words for you Ian… “give up” or maybe even “move on”

Next thing up for the socialist 7 is now stripping the mayor of just about all executive powers. Essentially limiting her powers to natural disasters only. The socialist 7 council will now like the two separate branches of government to become one. They will not stop until they have complete control. So much for separation of powers. Even the few things they are still “allowing” her to do, they would have the power to stop. So really, again, they want complete control. If and when the mayor becomes one of their own party, do they plan to keep these rules? Or is this just while the executive is of a different party? Executive powers exist for a reason! You don’t have to agree with them but you cannot control them!

They claim to be “mapping to state laws” but yet, I don’t recall any of them speaking out against all of Kathy’s executive orders. (Link below)🤔. Is it a natural emergency to allow bars to remain open until 4am during the Winter Olympics or the World Cup?

If we are looking to model after the state, let’s actually take a look at all the executors orders at the state level! The hypocrisy is INSANE! We thought the left didn’t want kings yet they are working towards their body of 7 being king!

Lastly, we’d like to touch on their newest appointment. A $50,000 PART TIME counsel to the council! We touched on this earlier this year but, now he’s official! This man is not only a husband of a two time losing candidate, a three time loser himself for the Democratic Party but also has TWO OTHER municipal jobs! BOTH of them FULL TIME. How does he work two full time jobs, you ask…. We don’t know! Two of these jobs pay $50k or more and the other over $100k. Meanwhile NYS, the City of Renssealer and the city of Troy have many employees who don’t even make that with one full time job, live paycheck to paycheck, struggle to make ends meet and work very hard, long hours. And our socialist 7 is handing out no show $50,000 jobs to political allies for a VERY part time private counsel for themselves. We are actually speechless on this one. The last time this position existed, it paid $15,000. The city already has an entire legal dept for those who are unaware.

Today we learned of the passing of longtime Troy Republican Committee member Caroline Wilcox.

For many years, if you attended a Troy event, there was a good chance Caroline would be there volunteering at the door. The only thing she ever seemed to require was that a little red wine be available!

Caroline was a truly kind and wonderful woman who touched the lives of many. She endured tremendous loss, having been predeceased by two of her children, Ronny and, more recently, Valarie.

I’m sure many members of the Republican Committee have fond memories of Caroline and the countless ways she contributed over the years. She will be remembered with great affection and will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
