Last week we celebrated one of our amazing tutors who received the Educator of the Year award! Charles has dedicated 8 years working with a class of English langauge learners at the Watervliet Library. His lessons are engaging, practical, and responsive and he incorporates humor to reduce anxiety. Congratulations Charles and thank you for all that you do! 🎉

🎉 From “I can’t” to “I did”! A tutor shares her experience building her learner's confidence:
"When I first met my student he was not sure of all of the letters and sounds of the alphabet. A few weeks ago, I put a book in front of him for the first time. He looked at it and said, 'I can't read that.' But then he read it, and two more books. And he asked if he could take home books so we went up to the desk together and he got his first library card. He checked out three books that day."
