The Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 Board of Directors, Administrative Staff, and Firefighters would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Firefighter Edward Diepenbrock on his well-earned retirement, effective today.
Ed began his service with the district as a volunteer on June 1, 1997, and was hired as a full-time firefighter on June 1, 2000. Over the course of 29 years of dedicated service, Ed made a lasting impact on our department and the community we proudly serve.
Throughout his career, Ed was instrumental in establishing the District’s Dive Team, participating in numerous dive recovery operations. He also played a key leadership role in our Explorer Program, mentoring and inspiring future generations of firefighters. His dedication and expertise were further demonstrated through countless search efforts, where he was credited with locating numerous individuals who had become lost in the State Park.
Among the many memorable incidents during his career were responses to escaped exotic pets, the Chums Restaurant fire, the Pike-Lincoln Technical Center fire, and a two-week deployment to Gulfport, Mississippi, assisting with recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina.
Beyond emergency responses, Ed was known for his exceptional ability to connect with young people. Whether he was participating in annual school fishing trips or representing the district at community events, he had a unique way of engaging children and leaving a lasting impression. Years later, many would still ask about “FF Ed.”
The Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 and the community we serve are grateful for Ed’s unwavering commitment, professionalism, and years of dedicated service. We thank him for his contributions and wish him a long, healthy, and fulfilling retirement.
Congratulations, Ed, and thank you for nearly three decades of service to Lincoln County.

May 21, 2026:

UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURE:

Linns Mill Rd will be closed on Tuesday May 26th through Friday May 29th between 7AM and 5PM each day for utility construction. Residents living between Hwy 47 and Fieth Rd will have to access Linns Mill Rd from the Fieth Rd end. There will be a total closure of Linns Mill Rd at Hwy 47 during construction.

Please plan accordingly and use alternative routes.

Due to a serious accident Hwy 47 west of Hwy H will be closed for an extended period of time.

The Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 would like to introduce to you our newly promoted captain, FF/Medic Tim Maricle. Captain Maricle has over 11 years of experience in the fire service and was hired by our district in October 2021. Capt. Maricle started filling the role as an Acting Captain in April 2024. Capt. Maricle will be assigned to A-Shift. The Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 Board of Directors and members would like to congratulate Capt. Maricle on his well-earned promotion.

This week the firefighters with the Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 had the honor of assisting the Mo. Dept of Conservation with their yearly 1st grade fishing events at the Troy City Pond. Although the weather was not the best for fishing the kids and adults had a great time fishing and talking about the ones that got away. We would like to thank the volunteers, family members, the conservation agents, the City of Troy Parks Division and the teachers and school employees for continuing to make this yearly event a great success.

8 AM UPDATE from Storm Prediction Center....

This is not looking good for our area later today. Highest risk so far of the season for the St. Louis area. PLEASE, have a plan in place if you are in the level 4/5 area. (moderate risk)

Between the time of 2pm - 7 pm is the greatest risk for the STL metro area (INCLUDING ALL AREAS IN THE 3/4 AREAS). Then until 10 pm for areas southeast.

If you hear sirens today or have a warning (even a severe t-storm warning - due to monster hail) TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY!
