This year marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To celebrate the Semiquincentennial, Troy Historic Village is inviting our community to hear the stories of Troy's past, from the earliest pioneers to our neighbors today. The Village is actively collecting stories from people all ages and backgrounds through various free programs this year.
Ways for you to get involved:
💚 FREE Oral History Project for Students - Students from 1st through 12th grade are invited to create a poster to be displayed as part of the Summe Exhibit! Families can download instructions and blank posters online or pick them up at the Village.
🎤 FREE Why Troy Oral Histories - Share the story of why your family lives in Troy and your memories of the community over the years. Whether you've lived here for a long time or just moved in, we want to talk to you!
📜 Summer Exhibit: Telling Troy's Stories - Alongside historic buildings and stories of pioneers, visitors will find stories from their own neighbors as students and adults across Troy contribute to this exhibit closes August 31.
📣 Village Open Late: Why Troy? Presentations - The Village will be open late every Thursday this summer and on the 4th Thursday of each, you can watch a short lecture that relates to our summer exhibit.
