Good morning!
Yes! Evergreen Management has officially submitted two ballot proposals that will appear on the November 2017 ballot. Due to the way the City of Detroit's Charter is written, there are two separate ballot questions. The first amends the regulatory provisions and the second is to amend the zoning ordinance. Under these proposals all 5 licenses types would be permitted within the City of Detroit.
The initiative submitted by Evergreen Management includes the following:
Opts Detroit into the MMFLA and establishes standards to regulate caregiver centers through BSEED regarding issuance, renewal and revocation and removes the jurisdiction of the City's BZA.
Amends the definition of a Drug Free School Zone to correspond to federal and state law and does not permit if the facility is within 1,000' from schools, colleges and public libraries.
A facility will be required to be 500' from another provisioning center or exempt religious institution where religious services are regularly conducted.
The proposed ordinance removes liquor and beer/wine stores, child care centers, arcades and parks as locations that preclude the location of a facility.
Growers and Secure Transporters will be permitted in the M1-5 industrial districts.
Processors, Provisioning Centers and Safety Compliance Facilities will be permitted in business and industrial districts, B1-5 and M1-5.
To my knowledge, the Sons of H**p did not submit a ballot proposal. For your reference, I have attached to two proposals submitted by Evergreen Management.
Cheers!
