!!!UPDATE!!! - The all-clear has been given. Residents of Meadowridge and residents may now safely return to their homes.

COMMUNITY UPDATE – ANHYDROUS AMMONIA LEAK

At approximately 5:55 a.m. this morning, a relief valve began leaking anhydrous ammonia at the Farmers Co-op on Highway J.

Beginning around 6:15 a.m., an evacuation was completed for the Meadowridge subdivision and the west side of the Legends subdivision as a precaution.

The Fire Department has since stopped the leak. We are currently waiting for the official all-clear before advising residents that it is safe to return to their homes.

We will provide an update as soon as the all-clear is given. Thank you to everyone for your patience and cooperation.

COMMUNITY UPDATE – WALMART INCIDENT

At 4:29 p.m., Lincoln County 911 Central Dispatch received a call from a subject who stated he was at Walmart, he had a bomb, a gun, and shot two people.

Law enforcement officers from Troy PD and several other agencies responded. The building was evacuated. After a thorough search, the store was cleared and reopened to the public.

It was determined that the call was a false report.

This is an active investigation at this time.

The Troy Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors that Main Street will be closed on Saturday, August 1, 2026, for the Memories on Main Street Car Show.

📍 Road Closure Location: Main Street from Kemper Street to College Street

🕔 Closure Time: 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time when traveling through the downtown area. Please use caution around the event area and watch for pedestrians, volunteers, and event participants.

The Troy Police Department is currently searching for Dakota, a 7-year-old boy with autism, who was last seen around 2nd Street and College.

Description:
🔹 Short blonde hair
🔹 Last seen wearing a pink/peach and white striped button-up shirt
🔹 Blue shorts with fish on them
🔹 Wearing one sandal and one orange shoe

Officers are actively searching the area. If you live nearby, please check your yards, garages, sheds, vehicles, playgrounds, and any areas where a child may seek shelter or become hidden.

⚠️ Dakota may be scared, nonverbal, or not respond when called. Please approach gently and notify authorities immediately.

We're excited to introduce two new faces to the Troy PD family!

First, congratulations to Officer Wesley Noble, who recently graduated from the Eastern Missouri Police Academy and is beginning his law enforcement career with us. We’re proud of his accomplishment and look forward to seeing the positive impact he'll make serving our community.

We're also happy to welcome Detective Don Stepp to the department. His experience, dedication, and commitment to public service make him a great addition to our team, and we're excited to have him on board.

Please join us in giving Wesley and Don a warm Troy welcome. We’re glad to have them as part of our department and look forward to the future together.
