3rd Graders at Carroll Hill have had a series of mystery readers visit their classroom as part of the mystery reading unit this spring, and they recently had a visit from an extra special guest - SouthPaw from the Tri-City ValleyCats !

SouthPaw come by to read a book, sign autographs and answer questions. He even brough two tickets for each student to the Summer Reading Night game this August!

Special thank you to SouthPaw and the ValleyCats for spending some time with our young readers!

🏃‍♂️ Troy High's Julian Monk is in the *running* for a state championship!

Monk took first place in the 400M dash at the Section 2 State Qualifier meet on June 4 and earned a spot in the state meet this weekend in Webster.

Two other notable results from the qualifier meet:

➡️ Samaira Lenegar broke her own school record in the 100M dash, finishing with a 12.49
➡️ Shamiyah Banks broke the 200M dash school record with a 25.34

Congratulations to Julian, Samaira, and Shamiya and all of our runners on a great season, and best of luck to Julian this weekend as he competes for a state title!

Always looking forward!

Members of the Troy CSD Board of Education and Superintendent John Carmello spent Saturday morning together for a board retreat focused on the future of our district. Through thoughtful discussion and long-range planning, they explored ways to strengthen opportunities for students and continue building on the success happening across our schools.

We are grateful for leaders who dedicate their time and energy to shaping a stronger future for our students, schools and community!

Last week, children's author and motivational speaker Ty Allan Jackson visited Carroll Hill - and there was no shortage of energy and excitement!

Ty spoke with classes about how he got started as an independent author, his writing process and inspiration, and the importance of never giving up on something you believe in.

The day ended with a writing seminar with, in which students explored origin stories of superheroes and villians, and began to create their own.

Yesterday, Ty visited School 14 - stay tuned for photos next week!

Troy High's Unified Bowling team received a special recognition yesterday in honor of their incredible undefeated inaugural season!

NYS Senator Jake Ashby presented the team with an official New York State Senate Proclamation, along with certificates and copies of the proclamation for each student and Coach Poutre and Cepiel in a short ceremony in the Troy Room.

👏 Congratulations to all our seniors who received awards or scholarships at Class Night!

A tradition for the graduating class of Troy High School, the Class of 2026 received more than 120 awards, honors and scholarships collectively worth nearly $300,000.

With just about two weeks of classes left, we look forward to all of our students, especially our seniors, finishing the year strong!
