Water Main Break in Troy

Construction workers accidentally damaged a major water line in the western part of Troy. The damaged line is leaking significantly, and city workers are attempting to isolate the break to begin repairs.

The isolation of the line could lead to many Troy water customers to lose service. Though not necessary at this time, a boil water notice may be required, and residents are advised to stay informed on this issue as the situation progresses.

All residents are urged to limit their water use until the situation is resolved.

No estimate is available for the time it will take to repair the line and return the system to full service.

City Officials are asking residents in Troy to conserve water over the next several hours. Following an early morning major traffic crash that resulted in a fire, the water system was drawn down significantly. Morning water usage is making it difficult for the system to replenish the storage tanks in a timely fashion.

04/06/2022

The water line from Temple that supplies the majority of Troy’s water has experienced some kind of failure. The city will begin to have lower water pressure as a result.

We are asking residents to go easy on their water usage and consumption so we can maintain pressure for fire fighting purposes.

Crews are working to repair the line. We will notify everyone when the problem is resolved.
