MISSING PERSON - PRESS RELEASE

The City of Canandaigua Police Department is looking for the public’s assistance with locating a missing child.

Jazmine Snyder, age 15, of Canandaigua, was last seen Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at about 10:00 pm in the City of Canandaigua. Jazmine is 5’0", 150 pounds, with brown hair, last seen wearing a pink sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and carrying a bag.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Canandaigua Police Department on-duty supervisor by calling the Ontario County 911 Center at 585-394-4560.

At last—news coverage that meaningfully highlights the systemic challenges facing rural EMS, challenges that only comprehensive state and federal legislative action can truly resolve.

Few people realize that Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are not classified as an essential service under state or federal law. While municipalities are legally mandated to provide police, fire protection, and public works, there is no equivalent requirement compelling them to ensure access to adequate EMS for their residents. This fundamental oversight leaves countless communities vulnerable and under-resourced.
