American Dirt is back on the Blue Nook shelf!

This one was heavy for me, and I kept starting and stopping reading it, mixing in lighter fare along the way. But the core characters of this story - a determined mother and her son - made me want to finish it to the end. Definitely what I call an “empathy builder” story - a unique perspective that will make you think about the trials of others.

I highly recommend The Comeback (incredible first-time author Ella Berman!), and really enjoyed City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert. Plus, the new Lianne Moriarity! You never know what titles you’ll find! 💙📚💙

I just finished this incredible book by first-time author Ella Berman: The Comeback. Wow!! Heavy, timely theme of budding young star plucked from obscurity and groomed by big-time Hollywood producer. I tore through this one in 2 days! And . . . it happens to be National Read a Book day!🤷🏼‍♀️ Done! ✅
