This morning (7/11)

At approximately 3:30 a.m, the Long Hill Fire Department was dispatched to Richfield Drive near the Bridgeport town line for a reported vehicle fire.

LH-1 arrived to find a single vehicle heavily involved. A total of 10 Long Hill firefighters responded aboard Engines 205, Engine 206, and 209. Crews quickly brought the fire under control.

It was subsequently determined that the vehicle was located within the City of Bridgeport. The Bridgeport Fire Department remained on scene to conduct the fire investigation.

This evening (7/4)

At approximately 10:00 p.m., the Long Hill and Trumbull Center Fire Departments were dispatched to the intersection of Main Street and Quality Street for a reported one-car rollover crash with a person trapped.

Firefighters arrived to find a single vehicle resting on its roof with one occupant trapped inside. Crews quickly stabilized the vehicle and extricated the victim.

The patient was treated at the scene by Trumbull EMS and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

In conjunction with members of the community and several organizations, Long Hill Fire Department will be collecting donations for Venezuela.

Following twin earthquakes of 7.2- and 7.5 magnitudes, over 2,500 people have died, 12,400 were injured, and thousands of families have been displaced or are still missing.

Below is a list of items requested by organizations sending assistance to Venezuela:

Our Drone Team was recently deployed in support of the Police Department, demonstrating the strength of our public safety partnership.

Our drone program is a collaborative effort between the Fire Department and Police Department, with FAA-certified pilots from multiple agencies working together to enhance public safety. This partnership allows us to rapidly deploy advanced aerial capabilities for emergency incidents, search operations, scene assessments, and other critical missions.

By combining resources, training, and technology across agencies, we are better equipped to serve and protect our community whenever the need arises.

This morning (6/22)

At about 6:30AM, Long Hill, as well as Trumbull Center fire was dispatched to Rt15NB just prior to Main St for the report of a car fire. LH1 and E205 arrived to find a single pickup truck fully involved. Crews from E205 and E102 extinguished the vehicle fire, as well as a brush fire and wooden guard rail that both ignited from the vehicle fire.

Last Tuesday evening, Long Hill was honored to host the 41st Annual Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters Memorial Ceremony.

This longstanding tradition pays tribute to the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and ensures their service and dedication are never forgotten.

We were especially proud to honor our own Assistant Chief Main, who died in the line of duty in 1957. His sacrifice, along with those of all fallen firefighters, serves as a lasting reminder of the courage, commitment, and selflessness that define the fire service.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Holy Cross Lutheran Church for serving as a gracious and accommodating host for this important event.

To all those who attended, participated, and helped make the ceremony possible, thank you for helping preserve the memory and legacy of our fallen brothers and sisters.
