Trumbull Senior Center The Trumbull Senior Center acts as a community resource and conduit to other services available to senior adults, aged 55 and older.

At the Trumbull Senior Center, our mission is to enrich the lives of older adults by offering programs, services, and educational opportunities that promote health and wellness, support independent living, and foster meaningful community engagement. The center offers a central location where individuals can receive information and services of interest to older adults. It is also a designated focal

point, which provide a comprehensive delivery of services essential for maintaining the health, independence and well-being. The center strives to prevent isolation and encourage socialization.

*NEW* Shuttle Service for the Trumbull Farmers’ Market!

If you are a senior, use a mobility device, or if you simply cannot manage longer walking distances, this shuttle service is here to give you a direct ride to the entrance of the market.

Shuttle Details:
• Park your vehicle at Unity Park: Direct service to and from the market at Twin Brooks Park.
• The shuttle picks you up and drops you off at the market entrance gates.
• Runs approximately every 30 minutes from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
• Completely FREE for all Trumbull Park sticker holders

This convenient new service is made possible through a wonderful community partnership. We extend our sincere gratitude to Christian Heritage School for generously providing the shuttle vehicle and driver to make this initiative happen for our town.

Our goal is to make the market accessible to everyone. This new service ensures that a long walk never stands between you and your favorite local vendors!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with several food pantry pickup programs:
Stop & Shop Pickup
• Every Monday morning
• Deliver to the pantry by 10:00 AM

BJ's Derby Pickup
• Every Tuesday at 10:00 AM
• Takes approximately 1.5 hours
• Occasional wait times may be required

Foodshare Bridgeport Pickup
• Tuesday mornings at 8:30 AM (typically once per month or less)
• Approximately 1 hour round trip, plus time to unload, sort, and stock food
• Requires a large vehicle such as an SUV, van, or pickup truck

Join Strum by the Sound, a nonprofit organization that delivers the gift of music to those who need it most, on Monday, June 15th at 10:30 AM for a fun hour of music at the senior center. Through donated instruments, music lessons, and compassionate outreach, Strum by the Sound connects and uplifts people of all ages. The visit will include instruments such as ukuleles, shakers, and voice for a fun hands-on jam. Spaces are limited. To sign up, please call (203) 452-5199.

The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is a seasonal USDA-funded grant program that provides low-income adults ages 60+ with benefits to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey from approved farmers' markets. Trumbull is proud to have Gazy Brothers Farm in attendance as our resident farm accepting the SFMNP.
