September is National Preparedness Month!

Each September, National Preparedness Month encourages and reminds Americans to be prepared for disasters or emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities. This year's theme is, "Americans Stand Ready."

The theme reflects the spirit of unity, resilience and resourcefulness that make our country strong. It’s a reminder that each of us can make a difference by taking proactive steps before a disaster strikes, and encouraging loved ones to do the same, Americans can contribute to the safety and security of the entire nation.

Preparedness is everyone’s responsibility, and disasters and emergencies can happen at any time, anywhere, and sometimes without warning.

This month, we will share some safety tips and suggestions to help keep your family and community safe.

Due to the rise in mail theft and check washing, the US Postal Service is warning people against dropping mail in postal boxes, especially if your mail contains a check or personal financial information.

Instead, the post office suggests taking mail to the Post Office in person or even better, pay online! We have made online payments easy and secure.
