Hey there! My name is Zoya Stamey and I am so blessed and excited to join Tryon elementary this fall as an PreK TA. I have wanted to teach for quite some time. I love seeing little minds grow and explore in so many different ways through learning and playing! I am currently enrolled in WCU to get my B-K license and Bachelors in Science. My name is Adina Ruff, and I’m very excited to be joining the teaching team at Tryon Elementary! I’m originally from Boyertown, Pennsylvania, and graduated from West Chester University. After graduating, I began my teaching career in Fort Collins, Colorado, where I taught special education for 4 years. I then moved to Hickory, NC, where I’ve been a K-2 self-contained teacher for the past 24 years. My husband, Kelly, is originally from Polk County and recently retired from teaching in North Carolina. He will be returning to the area to teach high school biology and environmental science in Boiling Springs, SC, during the upcoming school year. We have a daughter, Kayla, who is a biology major at NC State University, and a son, Tyler, who is a financial analyst in Raleigh. My hobbies include spending time with my golden retriever, Buddy, and enjoying the outdoors.

My name is Leah Hudgens, and I am thrilled to be joining the Tryon Elementary School family.

I am passionate about creating a classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and supported. I strive to help students grow both academically and socially while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

In my free time, you can find me curled up with a good book or spending time with family and friends.

Through this amazing opportunity, I hope to build meaningful relationships with students and their families as we work together to make this school year both successful and memorable.

I’m Carley Lawter, and I’m ecstatic to be teaching fifth grade at Tryon in the fall. I graduated from Gardner-Webb after completing my primary and secondary education through Polk County Schools. This will be a great opportunity to give back to the county that gave me so much.
I’m very excited to join the Tryon family next year. Tryon Elementary will be a wonderful place to start my career in education. Hi! My name is Lacey Gosnell, and I am so excited to join Tryon Elementary as a Pre-K teacher this year! I recently graduated from NC State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Extension Education. I grew up in Polk County, and I’m thrilled to begin my teaching career in the school district that fostered my love of learning. I have always dreamed of working with young learners and creating a classroom where every child feels loved, supported, and excited to learn. Hello, my name is Ms. Phoenix Roush. I just graduated with my Bachelor’s in psychology from UNCA, and I am considering continuing my education online. I have been subbing at Forbes Pre-K for about 4 years now, and I am so excited to officially join TES as a full-time Pre-K Assistant.
