Border Community Alliance BCA's mission is bridging the border and fostering community through education, & cultural exchange. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization.

Border Community Alliance offers access to the rich heritage and great potential of the US/Mexico borderlands of Arizona/Sonora through education, research, cultural exchange, and advocacy for social welfare in partnership with FESAC, a Sonoran NGO. Our mission
BCA is about bridging the border and fostering community through education, collaboration and cultural exchange. We do this in the Nogales

region of Southern Arizona/Sonora Mexico. We have no religious or political affiliations. We depend on donations and grants for funding. Incorporated in the state of Arizona, our board members reside in southern Arizona. Our advisory board consists of people from across the globe. We are based in Tubac, Arizona, a community forty miles south of Tucson and twenty miles north of the US/Mexico border. Values
We believe in social investment, not charity.We seek to listen and learn from each other, rather than presume we know it all. We respect the cultures and traditions of both Mexico and the US. We value working together with like-minded organizations and individuals on both sides of the border. We welcome participation in our programs regardless of one’s viewpoint of immigration.

August is Make-a-Will Month!

Making a will is an important step for all of us, regardless of socioeconomic situation, family status or age. Creating a will guides your family and loved ones at a difficult time, prevents confusion and strife, and ensures that your assets are used and allocated as you wish.

We also ask, as you create or revise your will or estate plans, to consider leaving a legacy gift to BCA.

Legacy giving means leaving an after-lifetime gift to a beloved nonprofit organization. Giving a legacy gift to an organization is one of the most meaningful types of gifts you can make. It enables you to continue to give to those organizations that are important to you indefinitely after your lifetime, while at the same time leaving assets to your loved ones.

At the Arizona State Capitol, our Borderland Ambassadors had the opportunity to learn how public service, policy, and cross-border collaboration help shape the future of the Arizona–Sonora region.

A special thank you to Jason Chavez, Director of the Arizona Governor's Office on Tribal Relations, for sharing his perspective on working with Arizona's Tribal Nations and the importance of building meaningful relationships across communities.

We're also grateful to Eva Masadiego, Executive Director of the Arizona-Mexico Commission, for speaking with our group about the value of binational partnerships and the strong relationship between Arizona and Sonora.

Experiences like these help our Ambassadors better understand the people, partnerships, and leadership that shape life in the borderlands.

The Border Is Also Art. 🎨

Before arriving in the Arizona–Sonora borderlands, Pate never expected art to be one of the experiences that would challenge his perspective the most.

From vibrant murals to local artists and creative spaces, he discovered that art is more than expression, it's a way of preserving history, celebrating culture, and bringing communities together.

Through Frontera Voices, we continue sharing the stories that reveal the many sides of life along the border.
