A film production will be taking place at Village Hall tomorrow, Wednesday September 30th, however, all Village Hall offices will remain open and operating as usual. Minor traffic disruptions are possible on Columbus Avenue and Underhill Street, so please use caution when traveling through the area

A rare September nor’easter will affect our area beginning today and continue throughout the weekend.

While we do not anticipate any significant flash flooding, periods of rain are expected on and off for much of the weekend. Windy conditions are also expected, with gusts that could bring down tree branches and potentially trees.

Please use caution, stay aware of changing conditions, and stay safe throughout the weekend.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL DOG OWNERS

Due to recent incidents within the Village, The Tuckahoe Police Department is strictly enforcing all Village ordinances regarding dogs. No verbal warnings will be issued. Anyone found in violation of a Village ordinance will be issued a summons and required to appear in Tuckahoe Village Court.

We are reminding all dog owners:

All dogs must be leashed at all times when off the owner’s property.
All dogs must be licensed by the Town of Eastchester.
All dogs must have a current rabies vaccination, and owners must be able to provide proof.
Dogs are not permitted in any Village park at any time.
All dogs must be properly secured on their owner’s property. If your dog has a habit of running out an open door, please take the necessary precautions to prevent it from getting loose.

Over the past 10 days, five summonses have already been issued, with additional summonses pending.

The safety of our residents, especially our children, is our priority. We are asking every dog owner to take these regulations seriously and make sure their dog is properly controlled and secured.

Please be a responsible dog owner and help keep Tuckahoe safe.

The Tuckahoe Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Police Officer Bryan Madan to the rank of Sergeant.

Sgt. Madan has been a member of the Tuckahoe Police Department since January 2018. During his time with the department, he has taken on several important roles, including serving as a member of the department’s Emergency Response Unit and as a D.A.R.E. instructor. Over the past several years, Sgt. Madan has also played an active role in running the department’s Explorer Program, helping mentor and introduce local teenagers to careers in law enforcement.

Please join us in congratulating Sgt. Madan on his well-deserved promotion and wishing him continued success in his new role!

The Tuckahoe Police Department would again like to remind parents and guardians that under New York State Law, children under the age of 16 are NOT permitted to operate E-Bikes or E-Scooters on public streets/sidewalks/property.

Over the past several months, there has been an increase in news reports throughout New York and across the country involving children being seriously injured or killed while operating E-Bikes and E-Scooters. Many of these accidents involve excessive speeds, riding in traffic, failure to obey traffic laws, and riders operating without helmets or proper experience.

Please be advised: E-Bikes and E-Scooters operated by underage riders on public roads or sidewalks will be subject to impoundment.

Riders 16 or 17 years of age MUST wear a helmet if riding a E-Scooter.

Our goal is education and prevention before a serious accident occurs within our community.

Please pass this on to your neighbors and we appreciate the cooperation of our residents in helping keep Tuckahoe safe for everyone!

Today, the Tuckahoe Police Department remembers and honors the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, including the brave first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We will never forget their courage, their sacrifice, and the countless families forever impacted by that day.

Tuckahoe Schools open September 3rd.

Please slow down, watch for children crossing, and use extra caution around school zones, bus stops, and residential streets.

Today, we congratulate Sergeant Christopher Aubry as he retires from the Tuckahoe Police Department after an incredible 37 years of dedicated service.

Throughout most of his career, Sergeant Aubry served as a Field Training Officer, playing an important role in training and mentoring nearly every current member of our department. His experience, dedication, and commitment to the Tuckahoe Police Department have left a lasting impact that will continue well beyond his retirement.

Congratulations, Chris, on an outstanding career. We thank you for your 37 years of service and wish you nothing but the best in your well-deserved retirement!
