🚨 Tuckerton Beach Residents Update 🚨

Tuckerton Beach residents — your area experienced significant flooding during the storm, which made it difficult for our crews to plow properly without risking serious damage to our equipment. Flood waters can severely impact our trucks and plows, so we cleared as much as we safely could while ensuring access for emergency vehicles.

Please know — we are not done.

Our Public Works team will be back tomorrow morning to continue clearing the roads as the flood waters recede and conditions improve. Safety for our operators and maintaining functional equipment so we can continue serving the entire community is our top priority.

For now, we have done everything that could be completed safely and ensured emergency access throughout the area.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these challenging conditions. We will be back to make the roads better. Stay safe!

🚨 Snow Removal Update & Travel Reminder 🚨

Our crews are still actively plowing throughout the Borough. With this heavy, wet snow, our operators must use steady momentum to safely and effectively clear the roads. For their safety — and yours — please stay out of the roadway and keep vehicles off the streets.

Our top priority is ensuring that roads remain passable for emergency vehicles. Every pass our plows make helps police, fire, and EMS respond when seconds matter.

We know many of you are working hard to clear your sidewalks and driveways — and we truly appreciate it. However, please remember:
❄️ Snow has to go somewhere, but do not throw or push snow back into the roadway.
❄️ Doing so creates hazardous conditions and undoes the work being done to keep roads safe and clear.

🚫 A travel ban remains in effect. Please remain home unless you are facing an emergency situation.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue working around the clock to keep our community safe. Stay warm and stay safe!

🚨 Weather Alert – Borough Complex Closed Tomorrow (2/23/26) 🚨

Due to the expected weather, the Borough Complex will be closed tomorrow, February 23rd.

Our emergency services and Public Works crews will still be out there doing what they do best — keeping our community safe and our roads clear. 👏

If you don’t absolutely need to be on the road, please stay home so our plow operators can work safely and efficiently.

A few important reminders:
🗑️ Trash collection is on the holiday schedule.
❄️ Property owners must clear adjacent sidewalks within 24 hours of the last snowfall.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation. Stay safe and stay warm!

Tuckerton Borough Office of Emergency Management
Impending Nor’easter – Storm Advisory

Tuckerton Borough Emergency Management is closely monitoring a powerful coastal storm expected to impact our area on Sunday. This system is being described as a potential “bomb cyclone” and is shaping up to be a significant winter event.

Current forecasts indicate this storm could bring a dangerous combination of heavy rain, icing, high winds, and significant snowfall. Blizzard conditions are possible, and snow totals continue to increase with each forecast update. As with all major weather events, projections can change, but this storm has the potential to produce record snowfall amounts in our region.

Early preparation is critical.

In anticipation of potential flooding, the Borough Hall Parking Lot (140 East Main Street) and Bay Avenue Ball Field for trailers/boats will be opened for emergency parking. Please do not block the gates at the ballfield, as this area is used by EMS for air evacuations during extreme emergencies.

During snow events, on-street parking is strictly prohibited. The Borough’s top priority is to keep roadways open and accessible for Fire and EMS response. Access to vehicles parked in designated overflow lots may be limited due to snowbanks created during plowing operations. It will be the vehicle owner’s responsibility to remove their vehicle if necessary.

Fire and EMS crews will be on standby around the clock throughout the storm to respond to emergencies.

Now is the time to prepare:
• Secure outdoor items.
• Ensure you have necessary medications and supplies.
• Prepare for possible power outages.
• Avoid unnecessary travel during peak storm conditions.

Expect the worst and prepare early. Your safety depends on it.

Stay safe,

Mike Dupuis Sr.
