Look at this alleyway ✨sparkle!✨ Eight volunteers came out to help with this past Sunday's cleanup. We filled up seven large bags and consolidated a pile of large material for pickup. And one of our volunteers gave this 🌼🌼blooming Palo Verde🌼🌼 a trim!

A big thanks to our volunteers and Tucson Clean and Beautiful for helping to make this happen.

Sunday (3/30) from 8am-11am: Bronx Park Neighborhood Cleanup

This Sunday, March 30th, residents of Bronx Park will be gathering for a neighborhood cleanup! We'll be meeting on 10th Ave at the entrance to the alleyway located between Drachman and Adams St:

We'll spruce up the alleyway from 9th Ave to 11th Ave, and a bit along Drachman. With enough time and volunteers we may give some attention to the Bronx Wash, as well.

Please come out for an hour or two to meet your neighbors, lend a hand, and let us know where you think could use some attention for the next cleanup.

Supplies and tools are supplied by Tucson Clean and Beautiful, so all you need to bring is water.

You'll also be able to get an up-close look at the new bike path infrastructure: cross walks, bike lanes, chicanes, and traffic circles. Things are happening in Bronx Park!

"Many hands make light work..."

Hello, Bronx Park neighbors. As association vice president, I try to organize cleanups in Bronx Park a handful of times a year. Previous association sponsored cleanups have included stretches of the Bronx Wash, and alleyways between/near Drachman, Adams, and Lee. Our residents have also attended Ward 3 sponsored cleanups within our association boundaries, as well as over in Barrio Blue Moon.

Presently, I would like to schedule one for March 29th or 30th. While the above locations are certainly due for some help, I wanted to first reach out to see who in Bronx Park has noticed a specific spot that needs attention, and could pledge themself and perhaps another neighbor or two for about 2 hours of cleanup on a Saturday or Sunday morning. I will arrange for equipment, supplies, and bag pickup through Tucson Clean and Beautiful. I hope to then schedule another for April and/or May before summer sets in.

We have several residents who attend cleanups consistently who I'm sure would like to attend, and these events are always a great way to meet new neighbors.

***Attention Bronx Park: Please come lend us an hour or two of your time this Saturday morning (April 8th from 8-10am) to help clear buffelgrass at our new parklet at 10th and Lee!***

Tucson Clean and Beautiful organized this event to further beautify the Bronx Bowtie Park. The basins were finished around the start of the new year, we finished our planting in February, and the park is taking shape beautifully! See the attached flyer and further info from TCB.

Join us Saturday morning, April 8th, as we remove invasive Buffelgrass (and other invasive species) from Bronx Bowtie Park!

Buffelgrass poses an immediate threat to the Sonoran ecosystem. Invasive buffelgrass alters natural ecological processes, competes with and excludes native plants, and alters wildlife habitat. Most importantly, it increases the frequency of wildfires. 🌾🚫
