In case you missed it, the annual Salute to Centenarians celebration took place on May 1st, 2026. Nearly 40 centenarians gathered as TMC Health and the Pima Council On Aging honored attendees for their lives and accomplishments.

To learn more, check out KGUN9's story below.

Part of healthy aging and well-being is learning to take care of our mind. In the same way that our body needs rest, our mind needs rest too — sleep is important for the mind but is not rest per se. Mindfulness is a framework and set of practices that can help us slow down, reduce the stress-response, and quiet the mind which can have a profound positive impact on our health and well-being. Participants will experience mindfulness practices during the session and also learn easy meditations for home practice.

Still hanging onto videotapes older than your first computer? Maybe a shoebox full of 35mm slides you haven’t looked at in years? Join us for a beginner’s introduction to turning those photos and home movies into digital keepsakes. This session will cover the basics of digitization, safe digital storage, and “cloud” sharing with friends and family. Genes matter—but they are not destiny. In this presentation, you’ll learn how DNA, epigenetics, and the gut microbiome work together, what is fixed, and what can change in response to diet and lifestyle.

Rather than revisiting familiar nutrition advice, this class focuses on recent advances in biology that help explain how genes are regulated and how microbes influence health. We’ll examine what probiotics can—and cannot—do, the emerging roles of postbiotics and microbial metabolites, and why fermented foods may affect health in ways that go beyond nutrients alone.
