Dear Families of 2025-2026 6th Grade Students,
As your child approaches the transition to 6th grade, we know you’re carefully considering the best environment for their continued growth—both academically and personally. While traditional middle schools are one option, we invite you to explore a unique and enriching alternative: 6th grade at Davidson Elementary.
Davidson offers a warm, supportive, and academically rigorous setting that helps students thrive without the pressures often associated with middle school. Here’s why more families are choosing Davidson:
A Smaller, More Personal Learning Environment
At Davidson, students benefit from smaller class sizes and fewer teachers, allowing for stronger relationships, more individualized attention, and a smoother academic transition. Your child won’t get lost in the crowd—they’ll be known, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.
A Safe and Stable Campus
Our elementary setting provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students can focus on learning and being themselves. Davidson is a place where kids don’t have to grow up too fast—they can enjoy being 11 and 12 years old without the social pressures that often come with traditional middle school.
Less “Middle School Drama”
Let’s be honest—middle school can be a tough time socially. At Davidson, our students experience less drama and fewer distractions, allowing them to build friendships, confidence, and character in a more positive and inclusive atmosphere.
Challenging Academics
We offer Accelerated Math and Honors English Language Arts (ELA) to challenge and engage advanced learners. These programs prepare students for future academic success while keeping them grounded in a supportive setting.
Exciting Electives
Our 6th graders enjoy a variety of electives, including:
Music: Band, Choir, or Orchestra
AVID: A college and career readiness program that builds skills in organization, goal-setting, and leadership
Leadership Opportunities
As the oldest students on campus, 6th graders at Davidson are given meaningful leadership roles and mentorship opportunities, helping them grow into confident, responsible young people.
We warmly invite you to consider Davidson Elementary as a powerful and positive alternative to traditional middle school. If you’d like to learn more or schedule a visit, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to show you what makes our 6th-grade program so special.
Sincerely,
Sarah Andricopoulos, Principal
