Arizona needs teachers. We’re bringing the degree to you. 🍎

The University of Arizona College of Education is launching the Near You Network Statewide Hybrid B.A.E. in Elementary Education, giving aspiring educators across Arizona a flexible path to earn their degree and become certified to teach K-8 without having to leave their communities.

💻 Live online afternoon and evening classes + flexible coursework
📍 Hands-on practicum and student teaching in your own community
⏰ Full-time and part-time options, with 2- and 4-year pathways
⭐ ESL and K-5 Literacy Endorsements built in
➕ Optional Bilingual Endorsement

Whether you’re ready to start your teaching career or looking for a way to make your classroom experience count toward your degree, your path to becoming an Arizona teacher can start right where you are.

What does family look like around the world? 🌎📚

We Are Family!: Depictions of Family in Contemporary Picturebooks is now on display at the Worlds of Words Center! Featuring international books from the International Youth Library in Munich, Germany, the exhibit explores the many ways families and family relationships are represented in contemporary picturebooks.

Visitors can explore stories about different family structures and participate in hands-on activities designed for families, schools and classrooms. The exhibit is free and open to the public through December 17.

“Upward Bound gave me an opportunity.”

And Angel Almazan made the most of it.

As an Upward Bound TRIO alum, Angel experienced what can happen when students are given the support, guidance and opportunity to dream bigger. Today, he’s a student at Yale University, building a future that once may have felt out of reach.

Angel’s story is a powerful reminder that TRIO works. His journey represents what is possible when we show up for students and make sure programs like Upward Bound are there for the next generation.

At the University of Arizona College of Education, we’re proud to be part of that work, helping create pathways to opportunity and supporting students as they discover what’s possible for their futures.

Back in June, we shared College of Education alumna Amanda Leyde’s inspiring story. Now, you can hear more about her journey firsthand! ❤️💙

Amanda is the founder of Summit Dance Company, a space she created to give young people the supportive environment she wished she had growing up. As a busy mom and business owner, she also earned her B.S. in Leadership and Learning Innovation, a College of Education program offered in partnership with Arizona Online.

Her journey is a reminder that leadership can take many forms, and sometimes the next step is simply having the courage to take it.

Amanda’s advice? “Do it. Do it scared.”

We couldn’t be prouder to call Amanda a College of Education and Arizona Online alumna! 🌟
