The Haven Tucson

The Haven Tucson For 56 years, we have helped women heal from substance use disorders.

The Haven is also home to the Native Ways program which offers treatment options for Native American women with substance use disorders. Individualized, residential services integrate traditional healing practices with evidenced-based, gender specific treatment methods.

“By donating to The Haven, you’re contributing to the welfare of our city, our women, and our human race.”

The legendary Chris O'Dell worked as Program Director and Primary Therapist at The Haven’s Casa de Palmas in 2010. She knows that when you are in recovery, your whole world changes.

We wrapped up Spirit Week with Movie Character Day. Even during difficult times, our team continues to show heart, resilience, and plenty of spirit.

“The Haven saved my life. Because of the safe housing, the non-judgmental support, and the incredible dedication of your staff, I am here today. The work you do for women—especially in helping entire families heal together—is irreplaceable. I am living proof that the programs you run work, and that the ripple effects are very real. I stand with The Haven completely. Please know that your hard work matters immensely, it changed my life, and I am rooting for the center to overcome this hurdle so you can continue saving lives just like you saved mine.”

During the past five decades, The Haven has helped at least 10,000 women heal, creating ripple effects felt by their children, families, and our whole community.

Today, that work is at risk.

We need 10,000 people to donate $100 so we can keep our doors open for women seeking recovery and hope.

If you believe in our mission, we ask you to make a gift today. The Haven can no longer rely on Medicaid payments alone to sustain our programs. Current reimbursement rates cover only 65% of the cost of residential treatment and 85% of Intensive Outpatient Program, leaving a gap in funding. We need donors like you to help ensure women and their children can continue accessing our life-changing programs.

Chris O'Dell is a trailblazer who broke barriers as one of the first, if not the first, women tour managers in rock and roll history. Throughout her career, she worked with some of the most legendary musicians of all time, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan.

After her years in the music industry, Chris began a second career as a therapist and served as Program Director and Primary Therapist at The Haven’s Casa de Palmas in 2010. Watch the video to hear more about Chris’s incredible path and her connection to The Haven.

This week, our Residential and Intensive Outpatient Programs came together to honor Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP) Awareness Day. Arizona has one of the highest rates of MMIP cases in the nation, a heartbreaking reality that continues to impact Indigenous communities across our state.

Our gatherings included an opening blessing, a silent procession, educational videos and speeches, sacred dance to bring healing and lightness to a heavy day, and a shared feast.

Our Educator, Shandra Bailey, reflects on the power of perseverance.

“When struggles come and you think you can’t go on anymore, just get up the next day. Just do the next right thing and see what happens.”
