September is National Kinship Care Month!

This month, we celebrate the strength of kinship families and recognize the compassion, commitment, and love they bring to youth’s lives. Thank you to every kinship caregiver who opens their heart and home to help a child feel safe, supported, and connected.

On August 25th we celebrated what would have been Baby Gabriel's 9th birthday alongside his wonderful family. In honor of his memory, his mother Clarissa and family collect toys annually and donate them to Aviva in hope of bringing holiday cheer to youth in foster care. We feel deeply grateful to be able to celebrate his life with his loved ones.💙

Every donation will make an impact in your local community. By supporting Aviva, you are supporting the 3000 youth in foster care Aviva serves a year through comprehensive behavioral health services, ongoing family support, and emergency resources.

The numbers are in!

Aviva Children's Services provided over 880 backpacks to youth in foster care across multiple counties in Arizona as part of our Back-to-School distribution event. Every child received a backpack full of school supplies to prepare them for the new school year.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the incredible community members, businesses, organizations, donors, and volunteers who came together to make this event possible. From donating funds and school supplies to giving your time and energy, every contribution made a difference.

Last week, Aviva Children's Services hosted our first Back-to-School Resource Fair! ✏️🎒

Youth in foster care and the families who care for them were welcomed to the Aviva office to pick out a backpack, fill it with school supplies, and learn about the different services and support available in the community.

Thank you to AZ Department of Child Safety, Arizona's Children Association, Spreading Threads Clothing Bank, Intermountain Centers, Southwest Gas Corporation, Easterseals Blake Foundation, Casa de los Niños, Our Growing Tree, Foster Alliance, Youth Villages Arizona, Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, and Boost A Foster Family for helping us get essential school supplies in the hands of youth in foster care.
