Calling all 8th grade families! Get a head start on high school with Freshman Academy — a FREE summer program designed to help students transition with confidence 💪📚

📅 May 27 – June 24
⏰ Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Students will:
✔️ Get familiar with teachers, classes & campus expectations
✔️ Learn AVID strategies for success
✔️ Explore high school programs & opportunities
✔️ Earn .5 elective high school credit upon completion

🍎 Free breakfast & lunch provided

Our Mountain Lions in Grades 3–8 will soon be participating in AZSCIENCE and AASA State Testing. These assessments help us measure student learning and growth, and we are excited to see our students show what they know!
📅 Testing Window: March 24 – April 17
💡 How families can help students succeed:
✅ Be at school every day during testing
⏰ Arrive on time so students can begin calmly
🍳 Eat a healthy breakfast
😴 Get a good night’s sleep
💻 Bring a positive attitude and do your best

Unite to Ignite: Celebrating Our Impact

This week we proudly celebrate School Social Work Week and take a moment to recognize the incredible work of Ms. Luz Harvey, our dedicated school social worker at Morgan Maxwell. 🦁❤️

School social workers are the bridge between students, families, and schools. They support students’ social and emotional well-being, help remove barriers to learning, collaborate with teachers and IEP teams, and connect families to resources that strengthen our entire community.

At Morgan Maxwell, Ms. Harvey plays a critical role in helping our students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. From supporting students through challenges, partnering with families, contributing to IEP teams, and helping build a positive school climate—her work touches so many lives every single day.

Her compassion, dedication, and advocacy remind us that when we unite to support students, we ignite their potential.

Thank you, Ms. Luz Harvey, for the heart you bring to Morgan Maxwell and for making a difference in the lives of our Mountain Lions every day. 🦁✨
