Sitting on the front porch (ok, actually on the northeast side in the shade) watching the world go by. I close my eyes and try to imagine what it was like 100 years ago. Were people walking by on their way to downtown to shop? How many cars were in town at the time? Would you see horses and wagons? What happened to the days when people would stop and visit for a while? I love this picture of Mr. And Mrs. Montgomery. (year unknown). Come to the Dollhouse to see more historical pictures.

One of the most important things in a bed and breakfast is the mattress you sleep on. We are proud to say we never had a complaint with our Temperpedic mattresses.
While the Dollhouse is 110 years old, we wouldn't want a mattress like this one found in a 1919 magazine. Rest assured, your comfort is a priority in this unique vintage setting.

The Dollhouse experienced something new, an "Alice in Wonderland " birthday tea party. A 7 year-old little girl and her friends learned the history of afternoon tea and playing games. The girls were treated to a traditional tea menu of finger sandwiches, scones, and birthday cupcakes.

In an ongoing discussion, we are trying to decide if the two left windows upstairs were placed in the wrong places by the builder. The large window is in the south bedroom. The other window is the portion that wasn't finished for over 70 years.
Do you think Mr. Simpson authorized the change so his daughter would have a larger window in her bedroom? What do you think?

While working upstairs in the east bedroom, the guys found some old wallpaper covered by layers of paint.

We call this the Ivy room but it is also called the TR room in honor of Theodore Roosevelt, one of my favorite Presidents. In the TR room we have an old calender featuring him and his family. Who can tell me what year it is? I have read a great deal about this fine Christian man. Did you know TR was President of the United States when the Dollhouse was built? What else do you know about him?

When we dedicated the Dollhouse to the Lord, I had a dream of having a Bible study for all women. Illness delayed this dream but now is the time.
Beginning next Tuesday, March 5 from 8 to 8:45 a.m. we will begin a no excuses Bible Study. From 8 to 8:15, we will have coffee and fellowship. The study will last from 8:15 and will end at 8:45 for those who have to be at work at 9. For those who wish to remain until 9, there is a discussion time over another cup of coffee or tea.
For those who feel intimidated by Bible study, no one will ask you to read, pray, or comment. The study allows you to come and listen or go home and study more. There is no homework class.
Finally, there nearby parking place as the picture shows. What is your excuse?

I love spending time at the Dollhouse and now I want to share the experience with those who aren't able to stay overnight. On Monday and Thursday mornings from 8 until 11 a.m., we will sell coffee and various teas. In addition, we have a variety of packaged Danish for sale.
We look forward to visiting with you in person.

Good morning from the Rose Room. Our up and down weather patterns keeps me confused, but on a warm day, I enjoy walking laps around the house and going up and down the stairs. It is wonderful exercise!
Once I am through walking, I sit on the porch, soaking in the warm sunshine. It is the perfect place for a cup of tea and daydreaming.
The Dollhouse has many exciting events coming this year, but I can't reveal them yet. Let's just say they are for young and old alike. Keep watching this page for clues. Today's clue is history.
