I spent my weekend at the District and Municipal Court Judges' Association - speaking at the Spring Conference in Suquamish, presenting on Judicial Independence and Leadership. All the judges from Washington State were at the conference and it was a wonderful opportunity to connect and engage in meaningful discussion about leadership, public trust, and the role of the judiciary.

One of the highlights of the conference was witnessing all the judges take the Washington State oath, and learning about timely issues.

During some free time, I also visited the gravesite of Chief Seattle, a meaningful reminder of the history and heritage of the region.

A major focus of my efforts over the last four months has been advocating for the Boeing Access Road Light Rail Station.

While we ultimately did not secure the station, I am proud of our advocacy.

We built strong partnerships, joining forces with the Graham Street Station advocacy group to form the South End Transit Justice Coalition. Together, we organized rallies, hosted town halls, and elevated the voices of our communities.

The Tukwila City Council sent multiple letters to the Sound Transit Board of Directors. We also secured a letter of support from 13 South King County cities and our 11th Legislative District legislators.

I’ve lost count of the number of meetings, conversations, phone calls, and community discussions that took place throughout this effort.

Most importantly, I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who stepped up, spoke out, and worked alongside us.

Although the Boeing Access Road Station is currently not secured, Tukwila will still receive $10 million to invest in transit options for Tukwila area while the Board continues to explore ways to deliver the BAR station. Many of the Board vowed continued commitment to deliver BAR as promised.

Although, not in Tukwila, I’m glad Graham Station is the "affordable" category which keeps on in ST3 plan to be delivered as promised by 2032!

While Renton which has paid $100s of millions will get the parking infrastructure it was promised.

Thank you to everyone who stood with us throughout this journey. I will continue to advocate to get the investment that was voted on and promised in the ST3 plan.
