Helping Children Build Confidence

Children build confidence when adults encourage effort, celebrate progress, and remind them they are capable.

Confidence grows one experience at a time.

Who Can Become a Caregiver?

Many people believe they have to meet certain requirements before becoming a caregiver.

The truth is, you don't have to be married, own a home, have a large income, or have prior parenting experience.

If you can provide a safe, supportive home and are committed to helping a child stay connected to their family, culture, and community, you may be able to make a difference.

Supporting Caregivers

Caregivers need support too.

Sometimes the best way to help children is by encouraging the adults who care for them.

A kind word, an offer to help, or simply checking in can make a difference.

Question:
What are some ways our community can support caregivers?

Respite Care Matters

Caring for children is rewarding, but everyone needs support from time to time.

Respite care provides temporary care for children, giving caregivers an opportunity to rest, attend appointments, or manage life's unexpected events while knowing children are in a safe and caring environment.

Supporting caregivers helps strengthen families and provides greater stability for children.

Listening to Children

Children feel valued when they know their voices matter.

Listening doesn't always mean having the answers. Sometimes it simply means being present, asking questions, and letting children know they are heard.

Question:
What is one way you help children feel heard?

Supporting Children Through Placement

Every child deserves a safe, stable, and supportive home.

When children need placement, our goal is to keep them connected to their family, community, and culture whenever possible.

Our Placement Program recruits and supports culturally appropriate homes while working alongside caregivers to provide children with the care, stability, and connection they need.
