Repairs to the water line are completed and the conserve water notice is now lifted.

Thank you the City of Tualatin utility crews and our partner agencies for the quick work on this repair. Thank you to all who conserved water during this notice!

Update: August 25, 2026

The City is continuing to repair a leak in one of our large water lines, which has been shut down. We are relying on water within our reservoirs to supply the City’s water demand while the repair is being made. We ask that all residents and businesses reduce all non-essential water use through Thursday, August 27th.

Please note: It is possible that you may notice slight discoloration or odor in water coming out of the tap. However, the water is safe to drink.

The best way to reduce water use is to temporarily stop all outdoor water use and reduce indoor water use as much as possible:

• Do not water lawns and gardens. If you have plants that will not survive a brief period without water, use water sparingly and only in the evening or early morning when evaporation is at its lowest.
• Do not wash or wet down sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking lots, open ground, or other hard surface areas.
• Do not wash trucks, cars, trailers, or other vehicles except at commercial establishments which recycle or reuse the water in their washing processes.
• Do not pressure wash.
• Do not use water to fill any indoor or outdoor swimming pools or hot tubs.
• Do not fill or clean decorative water features.
• Take shorter showers. Cutting five minutes off your shower will save 12 gallons of water.
• Run clothes and dishwashers with full loads or postpone washing until water supplies return to normal.
• Turn off water when brushing teeth, shaving, or shampooing. Running a faucet can use two gallons per minute.

Effective Immediately, all Tualatin residents and businesses should reduce all non-essential water use for the next 24-48 hours.

Pavement work (slurry seal) will be applied in several locations downtown this week and next. This work is typically quick and completed within 24 hours!

Slurry seal helps preserve the pavement, much like a coat of paint. Similarly, slurry is wet and sticky and takes several hours to dry. It is very difficult to remove from ALL surfaces. Please follow all signage and barricades to ensure that the slurry seal treatment stays on the road, and not on your shoes, skin, belongings, vehicles, children, or pets!
