❄️Tullahoma Winter Shelter Update!❄️

The Tullahoma Winter Shelter will officially open for overnight stays beginning January 4, 2026.

If temperatures drop below 32°F in December, we will do our best to open an emergency church location. Announcements about these emergency openings will be shared here, so please stay alert for updates.

Please note that December availability depends on volunteer support, so we encourage you to sign up with your church or contact Tom Murdock (information available on the flyer below) if you’d like to help.

We are deeply grateful for the local churches collaborating this effort by opening their doors and providing volunteers. It truly takes a caring, active community to make this possible — and we have that.

If you’d like to get involved, please reach out. We’ll also share updates soon about specific items needed to support our church shelter locations. You may also contact the churches directly to offer help.

▪️Thank you to Damron's Restaurant for providing breakfast for those staying at the churches! And thank you to Courtesy Dry Cleaners for continuing to partner with us to clean blankets between church changeover locations.

Thank you for helping provide warmth, safety, and compassion this winter. 💙

Public Service Announcement***
Warming Shelter Open Evenings January 11 - January 18
Due to a new extended forecast of nightly dangerous temperatures during the period of January 11 - January 18, an emergency warming center will be opening at Fair Haven Baptist Church (FHBC) 2726 Hwy 231 N beginning January 11th. Hours of operation will normally be from 6PM until 8AM. An evening meal and a place to sleep out of the frigid temperatures is provided. In the morning a hot breakfast sandwich or light breakfast is provided before people depart for the day. All needing a respite from the dangerous cold are welcomed.
Anyone needing transportation to FHBC may call John at 931-639-3321 for information about a ride. Transportation is limited so three designated pick up points have been set: Soup Kitchen parking lot (approx 5:30PM), Shelbyville – Bedford County Public Library parking lot (approx 5:40PM) and Gateway Church parking lot at the red light driveway (approx 5:50PM).
