We want to clarify some incorrect information that aired this morning on Channel 4 News regarding potential overnight outages in Tullahoma. At this time, TUA is not anticipating planned outages overnight.

While extreme weather can always create the possibility for isolated outages anywhere, TUA has invested heavily over the years in building a reliable, robust, and redundant electric system for our community. Our electric system is served by multiple TVA feeds, which provides additional reliability and flexibility during system or maintenance issues.

In addition, TUA has continued investing in automation and modern system technology that helps improve reliability, reduce outage durations, and allow crews to respond more efficiently when issues do occur.

We appreciate our customers and always want to ensure accurate information is shared with the community. As always, if conditions change or important system information needs to be communicated, updates will come directly from TUA through our official communication channels.

“Inflow & Infiltration” (I&I) occurs when rainwater and groundwater enter wastewater pipes through cracks, damaged lines, or openings like manholes. This extra water can overload the system, increase treatment costs, and impact long-term reliability.

Yesterday, we had the honor of wishing Loarn Hinkle well after 30 years of dedicated service to our community and Tullahoma Utilities Authority.

Throughout his career, Loarn has been known not only for his hard work and commitment, but also for the knowledge, leadership, and mentorship he shared with so many along the way. Over the years, he helped guide and train countless employees, always willing to lend a hand, answer questions, and pass along his experience to the next generation. His dedication to serving our customers and supporting his coworkers has made a lasting impact across our organization.

At TUA, our crews work hard to keep the lights on and power flowing safely and reliably for our community. Sometimes that means accessing utility easements, driving in yards, or trimming limbs to reach equipment and clear lines.

Utility easements help ensure our crews can safely maintain and restore service, especially during outages and severe weather. While we always strive to minimize impact to your property, there are times when quick access is necessary to restore power and keep our community safe.

We also ask customers to help keep utility easements clear of debris, landscaping, fences, and other obstructions so our crews can safely and quickly access equipment when needed.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as our crews work to serve Tullahoma each day.
