(copied from another department) Good Read!
You can turn this sucker off.
Our Chief is right, all the fire departments in the county need help. Weāve heard all the excuses. I canāt commit to (fill in the blank), Iām not always available, Iām too young/old, I donāt know anything about it. They are just excuses. We are all volunteers. We can when we can and we canāt when we canāt.
This is an incredible job you get paid for in ways that arenāt money. If youāve ever thought about it, contact the VFD in your area. The hardest part, is walking through that station door the first time.
We all live in the communities we serve. How can you make a difference?
Every fire department across the country needs help.

Why do firefighters wash their fire engines so frequently? šš§¼
The standard of taking pride in our appearance and that of our equipment is rooted deep in the fire service culture. Keeping our apparatus clean is one way our firefighters show pride and professionalism for their job.
In addition, being a professional means being well-trained and equipped to complete all parts of our job. Regular engine washes play a role in maintaining performance and safety. By removing dirt, contaminants, and debris to prevent corrosion, frequent washes can improve the longevity and reliability of our apparatus.

A task of stacking a cone on top of others was done. This exercise was to show the newer operators how the controls of the aeriaļæ¼l respond to being used and to teach depth to the tip of the ladder. The crews seemed to enjoy the training here are some pics of tonightās training
